We are so hopeful for the day when things can go back to normal. Vaccination efforts all over the world are getting us closer and   closer to that day. Now, LCP is moving in the right direction to being back to “normal”.

At LCP, 19 staff members are now fully vaccinated with 7 more already having their first dose and 15 more registered to be vaccinated when more doses become available. Vaccines are being distributed in Dumaguete to all adults with a priority focusing on senior citizens and individuals who are at high risk of exposure through their work, but quantities are limited. LCP staff have been able to get AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines.

More doses arrive in Negros every day, and with these continued vaccination efforts we hope to see members of the public be able to access vaccines as well. The situation remains dire in Dumaguete because most of our members are out of work or have reduced hours due to the pandemic with absolutely no government assistance.

According to WHO, as of July 21, 2021, there have been 14,465,786 vaccine doses administered resulting in 4.7% of the population being fully vaccinated, and 9.8% of the population partially vaccinated. The Philippines government is aiming to have 70 million of the 110 million Philippine citizens fully vaccinated before the end of this year. We will continue to pray for the vaccine rollout to be successful in the Philippines, and we look forward to the day when everyone can return to work at full capacity and all activities at LCP can resume.
