Children growing up in poverty conditions know that education can give them the chance to be teachers, merchants, or doctors.  But education in the Philippines is not free; even public schools charge tuition and require uniforms. Many families cannot afford these costs. Some cannot give up the income the child earns during the week by selling peanuts, washing motorbikes or begging. 

LCW believes that all children should have access to education and matches school-age children with sponsors from around the world.

The need for sponsorship does not end after high school graduation. Without a college education most youth will continue to live on the margin of survival. Each year, we witness an ever-increasing number of our youth preparing to make the important transition from high school to college or vocational school. College Work Scholarships are also available to youth after they have graduated from high school.
